We haven't yet worked out the interactive thing where you become a
virtual member of the band and have to play lots of old-timey
half-broken instruments onstage in front of a bunch of screaming drunk
people who dance around and try to hit you with bottles and wads of
cash while you play, but there's still plenty to keep you busy. Hunt
around and see what you can find -- just make sure you add yourself to
our
mailing list before you leave! Otherwise
how will we be able to contact you in case of emergency? We worry
sometimes, you know.
Well, we did it. The video has been shot. We wont know how its gonna turn out for a while, but hopefully we rocked. Who remembers... it was so damn hot. Never before has the Soda band been surrounded by so many lights and cameras and a jib. Yes, JIB. Its a video thing, you wouldnt know about it. But yeah, there were a little less than 300 kids there if the count was correct so that was good, and Im pretty sure all the sound and video and everything went off without a hitch. We sold a whole butt load of CDs and shirts and jackets and all sorts of stuff too! We have so much merch for sale these days, we should change the name of the and to Soda and his Million Piece Band and all the damn Merch you could ever need! There was a baby with a soda shirt on. the end.
See you in Vegas on Saturday!!!!
****EDIT****
Soda just called me after watching all the footage and listening back to the audio from last night and said that it came out amazingly! He said it will take a few weeks for all the video to be synced up with the audio so be patient. There were 8 cameras and 32 channels of audio.. so its alot of work but should be worth it.

ok, so tonights show was REALLY good. It was supposed to just be 7 songs or something to warm up for tomorow night, but the crowd was great and kept asking for more so we delivered! Now were all suuuuuuuuuper tired and are gonna try to get some sleep before tomorow. For those of you who dont know WHERE the Allen Theatre is, heres the best directions I can give you:
from hollywood-
take the 101 SOUTH to the 5 SOUTH
5 SOUTH to the 710 WEST (to long beach)
Exit FIRESTONE BLVD
Right on FIRESTONE BLVD
Left on OTIS (its a light)
Right on TWEEDY (also a light)
the theatre is up a few blocks on your right, but park in the parking
lot of the Millers Outpost across the street. parking there is safe and monitored
As far as I know, we are the 3rd band and will be going on around 10-10:30. I suggest
getting there as early as possible though (8pm at the latest) to make sure you get in.
La Resistencia is also playing and they sell the place out by themselves usual! So email me
if you havent already to hold a ticket for you, but it must be before 1pm. ok... see you tomorow!

The CDs are here!! The CDs are here!! Yes, for really real real. They finaly arrived from printing today and they look great! Theyre all pro like and shrink wrapped and everything and we decided to sell them at shows for TEN FUCKING BUCKS!!! No tax or nothing. We only have a thousand for now, so grab one up. I say at least half are gone within 8 days, with all these shows coming up and everything. We will still have some of the hand made cds at shows, but those are gonna be more expensive since theyre a bitch to make, and one of them ruined my pants. But thats another story. And next issue to tackle is getting them up on the site for sale. I think they will be on cdbaby.com shortly too, so that will be good. OK, see you tomorow!!!!!!!

Last nights show was HOT and CROWDED! and great! Thanks to everyone who came out to the El Cid after X to see us play. I think we made alot of new fans last night too. Faye looked pretty busy over there in Merch Land. Did anyone notice about 5 minutes before we played how the power went out on STAGE?!?! Hopefully you didnt see the fear in our eyes! But somehow it all came back on just in time and a disaster was avoided. Knowing us, we would have just jumped down off the stage and played acoustic in the middle of the room if we had to. Hell, we like to.
So the next show is this friday at The M Bar. Its our first time there so, come support us and help make it another great show. Were playing somewhat early, followed by a video screening for the Idaho Falls' new music video and then a performance by them. Its going to be a fun show. We played with The Idaho Falls a little over a week ago and I think our audiences get along well. If you like us youll like them. Then saturday is the big day.... you know... Allen Theatre.... live DVD.... etc etc. Good stuff. bye

2 practices in a row? Is it possible? We practiced again tonight and Im really excited about these
upcoming shows. Soda came by after practice and dropped me off some
pictures from a show we played at the Allen Theatre and a few copies of the new flyer (which you might have seen on the home page). I added all the new photos to the artwork section, as well as some
older pictures that never made it up, and I also gave you a
sneak peak at what the new CD will look like in the
Music Section. Soda decided that we should put up
FULL VERSIONS of all the songs for free for right now, so Ill get to that as soon as I can. For size reasons I cant put them up at full CD quality, but Ill do the best I can. ok, so its almost 5 am and I think my web-jobs are done for the night. .. .. ..

Just got home from a really good practice. Soda gave us a briefing on all the shows coming up in the next few weeks and its going to be
AMAZING! We have some of the best shows ever all in a matter 3 weeks or so, and all with great bands too. And on top of all that, the CDs should be done
JUST IN TIME for the
Allen Theatre show.
For now, we still need all of you keep
calling and emailing indie 1o3 and help us get more air play! Its going great so far and its just going to get better. Im also still putting together the
Will Call List for the Allen Theatre show on the 28th, so anyone who is going for SURE,
email me and Ill make sure there are tickets held for you at the door, because it WILL SELL OUT.
Stay tuned to the site, because I will be adding ALL of the UPCOMING shows in the next day or so, including:
VEGAS, ROUND 3 !!! Yep, were going back on September 4th. LABOR DAY WEEKEND. It will be a mad house at the Double Down but thats the way we like it! Ill post up some more info as soon as I have it. I believe were also playing good ol Room 5 on the 10th with the Waco Tragedies. And theres a few more bubbling up as well. So.. more on that later. seeya

Did you hear it? Hopefully youre coming to the site because you just heard our song being played on Indie 103.1 on the
"Watusi Rodeo Show". Now that they have the CD we need you guys to call the SHIT out of them every 2 seconds from now on and request that they play more of our songs. You should call between each bite of your lunch, and twice after dinner. And you should email them too. Send them emails with requests for us, along with attatchments of naked pictures of your neighbors! You have them too, right? This will get their attention and they will like us more and play us more! Heres how to bug them:
phone request: (877)4-LA1031
email request: request@indie1031.fmand make sure you call and bug
Henry Rollins during his show the most! He likes it. really.
And if you want to join the
MAILING LIST, the fastest way right now is to
email Ben at home and he'll add you to the list right away.
And if that wasnt enough, we have the 2 single most amazing shows coming up EVER and we'd love for you ALL to be at both! The show next week end at
El Cid is just going to be RIDICULOUS and fun and the Record Release show at the
Allen Theater is going to be filmed for our DVD and should be the best show ever. And the new CDs will be for sale too!! At shows and on CDbaby.com and all sorts of stuff. So... very exciting next few weeks for us.. stay tuned!

well, we did it. the experiment actually went ok. It was a pretty good turn out for a wednesday night in the middle of hollywood. Now we just have to get ourselves all together for that El Cid Show on the 22nd. Ill post more info on it in the shows section as soon as I get it. Between that show and the big Allen Theater show on the 28th, its gonna be a HUGE week for us! Our new CDs will be printed up all shiny ready for you to buy at shows and online as well!!! As far as I know we dont have ANY shows next week yet, which is a RARE thing for us.. so well probably take the time to fix up the site and make everything pretty for you. I said PROBABLY.

I know its late, but maybe you should come out to this show tonight (Wednesday, August 11th at the TEMPEST on Santa Monica Blvd, accross the street from trader joes) after all. I think we thought it might be shaky for us without Kevin and Matt and stuff, but we practiced tonight and it might be fun. it will be very different, that I can tell you. Its much more.. um.. I dont know. but its different. And we will unleash the new and exciting ORGAN OF DEATH at this show. I dont know why I decided to call it the ORGAN OF DEATH, but when I went to go type 'new organ' , it didnt sound so great. So, ORGAN OF DEATH, TEMPEST, FREE SHOW, PIZZA, IDAHO FALLS, WALKIE TALKIE, what the hell else do you neeeeeeeeeeed?

ok ok ok .. here I am. updating. again. it got a little busy over here for a while, but Im not going anywhere.
We just got back from our APPLE VALLEY trip and I would say its safe to say that it was fucking amazing and one of our favorite shows weve ever played. Lauren and Lenny were great hosts to us and all the kids were really really amazing and we were glad to have made the trip all the way out there. We sold tons of shirts and cds and stickers and stuff and were hoping that all you guys come see us on the 28th at the Allen Theater, if not sooner! I think we all made some new friends and fans tonight. So good luck to Lauren and Billy in Hawaii or however the hell you spell it. Seeya later

So you may have noticed that we're low on updates over here. Sorry for any confusion over upcoming appearances and whatnot, but we're going through another site overhaul that will hopefully lead to a better, more tittilating Soda experience.
We are handing off alot of control of the site to someone who will have more time and energy to dedicate to the appeasement of our mighty throng of rabid fans. You know who you are. All eleven of you.
Stay tuned to the site, and to the mailing list and hopefully we'll be up and running before you know it. So quit your whining.
